Welcome to the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy

As many as 1 in 4 of us will be affected by mental health problems throughout our life. The Academy provides the opportunity to  increase our knowledge and skills to become the expert in managing our own mental health and wellbeing.

The Academy believes that we are stronger together and works in partnership with peer tutors with life experience of mental health problems and practitioner trainers with professional knowledge and skills in the subject area.

What is the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy?

The Recovery and Wellbeing Academy is led by Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust and Coventry and Warwickshire Mind and is joined by 23 other great local organisations to deliver courses and workshops relevant to their experience.

It offers a wide range of courses and workshops that have been specifically designed to empower you to become an expert in your own recovery and wellbeing.

We aim that all courses with the Academy are built through co-production with professionals and people with their own experience of mental health experiences which gives an informative and honest delivery of self help tools.

Who are the courses and workshops run by and who are the courses for?

The courses with the Academy are completely FREE of cost for anyone to attend provided they live within Coventry and Warwickshire and are over the age of 18. It is expected that many people attending may feel nervous/anxious and so we aim to run our courses in a safe environment and are as informal, friendly and enjoyable as possible.

The courses provided are educational and not therapy, with the aim to equip people with further skills and knowledge about mental health and wellbeing. However, if you feel you require more specialised support please refer to your G.P. or local IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) service; for an IAPT assessment, please call 02476671090
